Big Fish
Okay so the director we chose to follow was Tim Burton. Here is the first movie we decided to watch. I think Tim Burton has a way with choosing only the most beautiful of colors to go with the vibrant scenes of the father's, Edward Bloom, younger days. Basically what he puts into each scene. The present day he uses regular colors but in the past it looks more like a dream with many different and not dull colors. One scene I especially liked was when Edward discovered a little town in the middle of the woods. All the houses are different colors and the grass is as green as green can get.
Another thing I noticed in Burton's work was that he chose a main character that needed to find out who he was or where he came from. A young foolish or helpless character who learns hard lessons in life. In this film there was the father, Edward who told his story from when he grew up and his adventures that made who he was in the present day. The movies that I have seen that Tim Burton has directed have always had a character that needed to find themselves and has some kind of adventure along the way or is accepted by someone they want to be accepted by and loved. In the end they usually turn out to be happy in where they end up.

haha I just watched this and I enjoyed how it was put together I just liked this part that made me laugh a lot. When they show the main characters dads birth he pops out of his mother and slides down the whole hallway. Hey I thought it was funny.
Yeah it is quite funny. Tim Burton does have a wild imagination and makes things look more exciting then they actually are. I thought another cool thing that he did was when he showed Edward growing out of his clothes. He used a comparison which I thought fit well and that it was shown throughout the film.
Yes Tim Burton is quite weird and does have intersting movies, but i personally haven't seen Big Fish yet but i heard it was really good in a weird way. And i still want to see it b/c my parents saw it and said it was a really good film!
So I guess hearing all of leslie's and chaska's comments on the movie and how funny it was and put together, just makes me wanna see it even more. I hope when i watch it, that it's just as funny as both the girls said it was. And hope to find my own scenes that i think our intersting and funny!
Yes it is a great film. Tim Burton does an excellent job of displaying his imagination on a motion picture. Its really exciting isn't it? I thought the whole plot was pieced nicely together. All the little adventures that Edward Bloom witnessed somehow tied into each other very neatly. That's another thing I like about Tim Burton. He's not afraid to put completely different stories together. It's a good skill he has acquired and the result has been good movies directed by him. Did anyone notice how the beginning tied into the end?
yes he starts with the fish in the river and ends that way too. Only its the father in the beginning and the son at the end. He is a wonderful story teller each time edward bloom tells a story he usually tells another story within that story but it all flows nicely into one big adventure.
